Hand Built.....

Years ago I was required to take classes to renew my teaching certificate.  The class was one of learning how to recreated work of an established artist, living or dead.  I chose making coil pot making being inspired by the work of Pueblo artist Maria Tofoya Martinez. It is a process where coil pots are scraped smooth while they dry and then polished with a smooth stone.  I initially fired them in a bonfire while visiting in Minnesota.  Years later I put them in a kiln and fired them to a higher temp.
