The hospital is less populated over the weekend. It is crowded all week and the cafeteria is so busy. On the weekends all the jobs of hospital business are closed down. The song "Empty Chairs and Empty Tables" comes to mind but it really isn't fitting for this setting. In the song "all my friends are dead and gone" doesn't fit this story. Monday morning life comes back with great confusion.
