Have a view of my daily photos or photos from my past. We all need to document the world around us visually. What I see is mostly what you get.

Snowcapped Coneflowers..........
I like to not clear all of the dead plants from the garden for this very reason. It is an interesting shot. As you can see if it snows long and hard enough that it will stick to the caps of these coneflowers. The sunflower stems are not impressive but maybe they will be easier to remove in the spring after they go through the winter.
We had -6 degrees F. this morning when we got our day started. It is up to +9 F. already and will head to the 20's by four o'clock this afternoon. The south wind coming from Missouri is blowing over that warm state and will help us out a little. The strong winds in early morning meant a rough windchill. It is winter in Iowa and it is really normal for this time of the year.

Teddy's legs are a little short for this big wheel but he still likes sitting on it. These shots were buried in my files and this one...

Iowa wild rose is the state flower. I keep finding evidence of our hard freeze on different plants as they mature. The freeze messed up...

I agree....the snow on the dried flowers really is beautiful! Much more interesting that a flat piece of yard.
We have that weather, too! Staying inside for sure!
It's what I call winter interest. I like to leave the sweet autumn clematis vines for this reason, as well for protection and seeds for the birds during winter. They make good use of both!
They look just like our coneflowers! Same weather here!
I think of coton flowers. I love coton flowers.
Still no snow over here.
Lovely picture, Larry, although I wouldn't like to wade through that lot. Make sure you stay warm!
