The feeder isn't designed that well so the birds had to learn how to land on it and then how to dig into that opening to seed.
Have a view of my daily photos or photos from my past. We all need to document the world around us visually. What I see is mostly what you get.

Probably to discourage the squirrels. Looks like he's figured it out!
Birds definitely know how to work things out ... still I guess where there's food there's always a way.
We had those bird feeders but they did get the hang of it eventually.
