The Great Iowa Tractor Ride.......

I found this photo full of color to share today.  It is from the past when my father in law and I had attended the Great Iowa Tractor Ride.  Hundreds of tractors are out doing their thing following each other across a large distance of the state.  It was sponsored by a local radio station.

It was fun to see all the old restored tractors as well as the big new expensive ones with air conditioned cabs.  A hundred at a time would come into this town, Minburn, Iowa and then the group would move on to the next destination.  Another group of a hundred would drive in to take their place as they made pit stops across the state.  I think there was over a thousand in the entire group that year.

Yes, that is a very colorful picture. I like the older ones better than the newer one. The new ones just look too comfortable.

What a great photo and memory. I have a blog friend in TN and her husband participates in something similar in their state.

Went to my first "Tractor Pull" last summer. Now I can cross that off my bucket list. Too bad it wasn't on my list.

That must have been something to see in person. I like your picture -- I haven't seen a Farmall tractor in ages.

It must have been a spectacular sight seeing so many tractors together.

Great picture, Larry! So perfect for a dreary winter day! My husband has an old Oliver 88 and loves to see the old tractors out and about. When is this "Ride"?
