Lady's day out...........
The female cardinal looks lkie she is posing for the camera. Actually she keeps looking around to be sure there is not any danger. She just keeps surveying the area while eating. I don't think I have ever noticed the top notch of red before but when you can freeze it in the moment with a digital you can take notice of all of the wonderful markings and subtle coloring.

Subtle indeed....what a contrast to the splendiferously blatant red male.
I love the female's coloring....wonderful photo.
What a darling wee bird so pretty, thanks for sharing :)

It's a perfect capture and would make a wonderful greetings card.
So shy and sweet. She is a beauty in her own way... :)
This is a very beautiful shot. Cheers, Ruby
