River Birch Bark......
I have been flooding you with flower shots so I decided to share some bark on my tree. I bought the river birch thinking it was a clump birch and I am so glad I made the mistake. I gave one to my neighbor and I kept this one. It is a wonderful specimen tree that looks so great in my orchard area. I like how it peals back bark continually as it grows.

So interesting, isn't it, how it peels back! We have a birch that needs to come down. I think it will be welcomed as firewood next winter.
One of the things I was introduced to during my travels back east while I was on the truck was birch beer, which has a slightly stronger bite to it than regular root beer does to me. Oh yeah, I liked it!
One of my favorite trees and this photo is perfect!
It really adds some interest doesn't it!
